Good Afternoon Friends,
Happy Wednesday! I hope everyone is doing well.
Join us this Saturday, 5-8pm for some great live music from @ryanraynal
The Opus One bottles are here, just in time for the holidays. I have Opus One, vintage 2017 and 2021 along with the Opus One Overture Blend, 2021.
For my Howell Mountain fans, I have the 2021 Castiel Cabernet, rated 99 points by Jeb Dunnuck. This wine is crafted by Celia Welch - winemaker (also winemaker for Scarecrow, Keever, Lindstrom)
- 99 points, Jeb Dunnuck
- Another masterpiece from the talents of Celia Welch (Scarecrow, Keever, Corra, etc.), the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain comes from a site on Howell Mountain and spent 20 months in new French oak. It's a full-bodied, concentrated, powerful Mountain Cabernet revealing ample smoked black fruits, notes of graphite, tobacco, spicy wood, and bouquet garni, a dense, layered mid-palate, building tannins, and a gorgeous overall profile that will benefit from 4-5 years of bottle age. It will unquestionably have two decades or more of prime drinking.
These are wines not to miss!
Frank Family Chardonnay. Just $29.95/btl when you buy a case of 12. Normal price is $39.95/btl.

We are featuring the following wines this Friday and Saturday from 5-8PM...
Bonterra 'The Roost' Single Vineyard Estate Chardonnay
Bright and aromatic, the 2022 vintage delivers fresh and nuanced complexity with a juicy fruit core. Aromas of lemon rind and honeysuckle open into tangerine and pineapple on the full, smooth palate, with subtle shades of magnolia and white tea. The excellent texture and viscosity is uplifted by fresh acidity.
Flowers Pinot Noir
This fine-spun Pinot Noir opens with fresh aromas of coastal evergreens and wildflowers. Hints of early-season cherries follow, macerated in warm spices (anise, cardamom, allspice) and layered over earthy sandalwood. Ripe yet tangy dark berries, wearing a little dust from the patch, star on a lightly textured palate, giving way to savory herbs, delicately tannic red tea, and a pop of salty sea beans. A fascinating play of light fruit and dark spice is finished with a bright squeeze of orange peel.
Grgich Hills Zinfandel
This elegant, fruity Zinfandel brims with inviting aromas of cherry, raspberry, and blackberry intermixed with hints of cranberry and blood orange. Graceful and soft on the front palate, the flavors of mixed red berries and the lively tannins add luscious texture throughout the mid-palate, balanced with perfectly integrated acidity. Its long finish reveals spicy undertones and a superb freshness that will allow it to age beautifully for many years.
Ride & Ridden 'Ride' Napa Cabernet Sauvignon
Richly flavored and generous, this wine has a firm structure. Flavors of vanilla cream, blackberry, cassis, cedar and cracked pepper are carried by firm, fine-grained tannins and a long finish. The wine could benefit from decanting so hold until 2027.
Pride Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
Blackberry, currant and plum lead to seductive flavors of cedar box and summer savory. The tannins are mouthfilling and luxurious in the way that only mountain fruit can achieve. The balance is precise, offering enough tension to intrigue the senses and welcoming you to another sip. The acid that so elegantly frames the richness of this wine will allow it to age gracefully and completely. Drink early and often but be sure to lay down enough to appreciate its progression for the next 10 – 25 years.
Cheers,
Jeremy
