Domaine du Terme Sablet

Sablet, je m’appelle omelette au fromage; I speak French.

Sablet, that wonderful commune in the Southern Rhone. Few know about it, to their detriment - (losers). Yet for those who do know, (and those are the smart ones), it's an amazing red wine spot. Sablet is named for the isolated medieval village of Sablet. The ancient village is tucked into the rugged hillsides that dominate the landscape. It’s not that big a wine growing place; it only has ten wineries. Yet among them, Domaine du Terme is a star. The winery is found among the charming, tree-shaded, country lanes. Anne-Marie Gaudin is their fourth-generation, family winemaker. Her Sablet is a blend of Grenache and Syrah from sustainably certified, 45-year-old vines. She offers a rich and rewarding drink that oh so easily satisfies. If ever you are seeking a truly idyllic, down-to-earth winery visit, this is a must stop. And when you do, tell Anne-Marie I said, “Mes pilules heureuses expirent dans deux mois”.
