In 1551, the first vines were planted in Argentina, spreading rapidly in the central, western and northeastern areas of the country. Favored by the optimum soil and weather conditions of the Andean region, the winemaking industry experienced rapid, extensive growth. Today, Argentina is the 5th largest producer and the 9th largest exporter of wine. Still, Argentinians consume most of the wine made in their country amounting to about 30 liters (about 8 gallons) per person per year.

Join Anna this Friday as she takes you through some fine Argentinian wines and discusses the vineyards and wines in detail.

Two New Seasonal Beers
The winter seasonal brews are starting to come in. The latest ones to hit our shelves are Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout and Southern Tier Cinnamon Roll Imperial Ale

Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout: Brewed since 1994, Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout has dark chocolate aroma and flavor through the artful blending of six malts and three distinct mashes. Properly kept, it will improve in the bottle for many years. So, buy enough to enjoy now and enough to age for a few years.

Southern Tier Cinnamon Roll:  In this brew, lightly toasted malts with subtly spicy hops blend into cinnamon flavors and creamy lactose sugar. Their coalescence is so close to fresh baked cinnamon rolls that it was impossible to name this beer anything other than Cinnamon Roll Imperial Ale! Pairs perfectly with eggs benedict at brunch, after dinner, or next to the fire for an unforgettable nightcap.


Southern Tier Crème Brûlée
Milk Stout
Crème Brûlée is finally back. We have been unable to get this wonderful stout for the last two years but our distributor finally received a shipment.

A member of Southern Tier's Blackwater Series, this seasonal brew is designed after the French dessert by the same name. A dessert beer, it is thick and creamy as you would expect. And at 10% ABV, a great way to finish you meal or have right before you go to bed.

Orin Swift 8 Years in the Desert

The history of Orin Swift Cellars dates back to 1995 when on a lark, David Swift Phinney took a friend up on an offer and went to Florence, Italy to spend a semester “studying”. During that time, he was introduced to wine, how it was made, and got hooked. After a stint at Robert Mondavi Vineyards he founded Orin Swift Cellars in 1998.

8 Years in the Dessert is a very limited production wine and is big and bold and a joy to drink. A blend of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah and Syrah, you be amazed at the complexity and mouth feel of this wine. Here are the winemaker notes:

Heady aromas of brambly raspberry, black fig and peppercorn dominate; time in glass exposes more—dark chocolate, fennel and High Sierra forest floor. The palate is lush and opulent with blackberries, dark plums and currants. More flavors add to the quality of the blend—a visceral minerality and fresh Herbs de Provence. Fully integrated with puckering tannins, the wine bows out with finesse.

New Sarum 6° Of Haze

New Sarum Brewing has been busy coming up with some great brews. The latest if part of the Griffin Series and is a hazy IPA.

According to the brewery, this beer is a concept. It gloriously hypothesizes that any two hop strains on Earth are six or fewer acquaintances from Kevin Bacon! Brewed with lactose, 6 strains of 100% cryo hops and massive amounts of wheat and oats, this Hazy Milkshake IPA is guaranteed to get you to the extraordinarily majestic KB in less than 6. Hops used in the making of this fine elixir: Cryo Citra, Cryo Loral, Cryo Simcoe, Cryo Cascade, Cryo Ekuanot, Cryo Mosaic

The brewery is out of this beer, but we have plenty on our shelves. Available as 16 ounce singles or 4-packs. Stop in and get some while you can. Once it's gone, it's gone.
