FCA Students Taking Flight for Christ
November 2018
Greetings in His Service!

“To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.” —Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NKJV)

Whether it’s the end of hurricane season or you changing your clock for Daylight Saving Time, autumn helps us remember that nothing stays the same forever. Change is constant, but that’s all right. God has perfect timing, and His purposes and plans reach into eternity.

  • Faith Christian Academy is pleased to welcome Mrs. Erin Land as our new Assistant Principal for School Year 2018-2019. Erin has a wealth of knowledge and experience in education. She is married and the mother of four beautiful children.
  • Congratulations and thank you to Mrs. Melissa Gibson who is our new PTO President. Plans are presently underway for a Fall Family Fun Night. Information will be forthcoming. For information about PTO membership and events, contact the school at
  • Christian Powers served as Youth Night guest speaker at Hedges Baptist Church. FCA is very proud of Christian and our youth who attend Hedges Baptist and helped lead the services that evening. Thank you to the leadership and parishioners for their work to further Christ's Kingdom!
  • Several of our FCA students were selected to participate in Youth Leadership Nassau via Nassau County 4-H Program. FCA maintains rewarding partnerships with regional programs and agencies for the success of our students.
  • Our Fall Book Fair, sponsored by Scholastic Publications, was a great success. Students at FCA love to read and it shows! Our Family Night sales were record-breaking! Thank you FCA families!
  • Headmaster Bryan Alvaré is serving on the advisory panel for Youth Leadership Nassau. This year marks Mr. Alvaré's second year in his commitment to improving educational opportunities to all youth in our great county.
  • Our fall athletic program is in full swing and student athletes continue to wear the academy colors as "good sports" and ambassadors for Christ. Thank you to our Athletic Director, Glenn Parrish, and the coaching staff: Flag Football - Coach Parrish, Coach Sal Ortiz. Cross Country - Coach James Hay. Junior Varsity Volleyball - Coach Dani Curtis. Varsity Volleyball - Coach Sarah Henderson.
  • Our school day begins with a devotional and prayer. Our great nation is celebrated in each classroom with the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States Flag, the Christian Flag, and the Bible. FCA is building the future with Christian values and patriotic principles.
  • How can you help? Prayers are faithfully needed and very much appreciated! FCA also needs your financial generosity. Please consider making a monetary contribution on a regular basis to the Guardian Angel Program. Your help assures a future that is bright, promising, and Christlike. Thank you.

In Faith and Friendship,

Bryan Alvaré

THINK PINK Spirit Night at CFA
We are blessed to have Melissa Gibson join us as our new PTO President for SY 2018-2019! Melissa has been hard at work planning and coordinating with staff on activities such as our book fair, Fall Family Fun Night, and October's CFA Spirit Night, which benefited not only our school, but also The Donna Foundation for breast cancer research. Thank you, Melissa, for helping to get our year off to a great start!

Michelle Swilley, at left (top right) and Katie Wehrung at right (center) participate in a team-building activity with the Youth Leadership Nassau Program. The program acquaints youth with community needs, opportunities, problems and resources and provides interaction with community leaders and decision makers. Students develop an understanding of leadership qualities and group skills as well as mutual trust and respect.
FCA Student Shares God's Love with Others

Guardian Angel Program
We believe God has set us on a mission to grow His kingdom by investing in our students and programs. On behalf of our present student body and those children whom we have yet to meet, I pray you, our Guardian Angels, will become an active and faithful supporter of FCA. Our goal is to raise $50,000. Your financial assistance is greatly needed and appreciated.
