While many of us enjoy a little frightful fun during Halloween season, each style has some fears that shape their mindset, decisions, and behaviors all year long. To make it worse, we often let those fears create false beliefs that negatively affect how we see ourselves and how we’re perceived by others:
🦅 Eagles: “If I don’t accomplish great things, nobody will respect me.” Self-worth is driven by what they achieve.
🦜 Parrots: “If I express concerns or confront someone about something I don’t like, people won’t like me.” Their self-worth is wrapped up in how others perceive them.
🕊️ Doves: “If I put my needs above others, people will see me as selfish.” They derive self-worth from serving and supporting others.
🦉 Owls: “If I’m not perfect, people will not value me.” They believe the quality of their work reflects their worth as an individual.
These fears are often at the root of each style’s overuse behaviors, when our strengths turn into our weaknesses in a way that can be scary for ourselves, or those around us.
