MAY 2024

Principal Message

Winnequah Families,

It is so hard to believe that the end of the school year is approaching so quickly. We have had such a fun year together and the kids have learned and grown so much, in so many ways! Thank you for sharing your children with us this year! We are so thankful for the opportunity to work together! We have a lot of fun activities coming in May and June to help celebrate our year together and showcase our hard work. In addition to the remaining music concerts, we also have:

  • May 2 - Fine Arts Night
  • May 24 - Winnequah Games Day
  • May 31 - WSFO End of Year Bash
  • June 6 - Last Day of School, including 5th Grade Farewell

And of course, there are many fun field trips planned for each grade as well. It is sure to be an exciting and fun end to the year!

We will also be saying farewell and good luck to our group of 5th graders as they move on to GDS or MG21. We will have a parade through the school for our 5th graders, followed by a recognition on the playground. Parents are welcome to join us on the blacktop playground area around 1:45 for this recognition and farewell.

Thank you to all for making 2023-24 a very wonderful school year! Winnequah is a very special place to be a part of and I am thankful to be a part of such a wonderful school community!

Have a safe and splendid summer!

In Appreciation,

Angie Fassl

4th Grade Strings

4th Grade Strings Demo

Wednesday, May 15th at 10 AM

Winnequah Gym

Dear Future Winnequah Strings Families,

My name is Naomi Hasan and I teach strings at Winnequah. Strings class is open to all 4th-grade students. It’s part of a student’s schedule so they can still take part in their regular classes. Selections are made in the fall, when school starts, but I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself, share the instrument options, and a demo opportunity so your student has plenty of time to make a selection.

On Wednesday, May 15th the 4th grade strings classes will host a concert for incoming students during school. 3rd graders will attend with their homerooms. You’re welcome to join us! Students will share in their own words: why they picked their instrument, what it’s like to study an instrument, and what they love about class.

For more information click the button below.

Are You Moving?

If you plan on moving, please click here to fill out a withdrawal form that will assist us in forwarding your child's records to the next school.

Email your withdrawal form to: kathleen.williamsen@mgschools.net

Most current students are eligible to continue attending Monona Grove schools even if they move out of district boundaries. If you have moved or are planning a move that takes you out of the district, you need to apply for Open Enrollment through

Wisconsin DPI: https://dpi.wi.gov/open-enrollment.  This application deadline ended April 30.

If you plan on moving after that date and wish to attend next year, you will need to fill out a tuition waiver for the 24-25 school year.

If you have questions, please email openenrollment@mgschools.net.

2024-2025 School Photo Days

Important Update

We’re pleased to announce a change in our school photo schedule based on the valuable feedback from our families.

This year, all MGSD students are invited to attend our districtwide photo days on either August 12th at Monona Grove High School or August 22nd at Granite Ridge School.

Siblings are welcome to attend the same time slot, making this a smoother experience for all. Each location will serve any MGSD student, regardless of their home school. While we strongly encourage attendance in August, make-up days will be available after school starts for those who cannot make the earlier dates.

Sign up for a photo session online (time slots are available every 15 minutes but will fill quickly–sign up now for more options).

Culture Fair
