Dear Members,

For over a decade the Pittsburgh Human Resources Association's (PHRA) Engaging Pittsburgh: Innovative People Practices Awards has recognized employees and employers from across the region who have demonstrated creativity in designing business practices. These practices have significantly contributed towards organizational and employee achievements. Since the initial Engaging Pittsburgh awards celebration in 2000, the 2019 Engaging Pittsburgh celebration ranks among the most exciting.

Earl Buford, Chief Executive Officer, Partner4Work , opened the ceremony by providing insight and statistics on how Partner4Work is advancing the local labor market dynamics by delivering solutions to bridge the gap between people looking for work and businesses in need of talent. Earl's presentation was inspiring and left attendees dreaming big about opportunities to develop a thriving workforce in the Pittsburgh region.

Afterwards, the accomplishments of all 20 finalists were announced by Janet K. Manuel, PHRA's President.  Congratulations to the 2019 Engaging Pittsburgh: Innovative People Practices Award winners: Argo AI, LLC, Eat'n Park Hospitality Group, Inc., FedEx Ground, MedExpress and  Sharon Kolesar, HR Leader.
As PHRA's 2019 President, Janet K. Manuel, stated, “This year’s nominees have all demonstrated that people matter and are the key to the success of their business. That understanding was illustrated by this year’s Engaging Pittsburgh finalists by giving their employees the opportunity to grow, develop, and reach greater levels of success personally, professionally and for the organization.”

I invite you to consider what your organization does, or CAN DO to show that Pittsburgh really is all about the people! We hope you join us again next year at Engaging Pittsburgh 2020.
Liz Lamping, PHRA Executive Director
