Gayle was born and raised in Long Beach, California, and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Film from USC. After studying in Paris, France for a short period and dabbling in the fashion world, she started her casting career as an assistant to casting director Peg Halligan after graduating from college. She then worked as an assistant for Leslie Litt and Steven O'Neill in casting at NBC Network.

Gayle went back into the world of online casting when Meg Liberman and Marc Hirschfeld were looking for an additional assistant for their busy office at Liberman/Hirschfeld Casting. It was there she met her current business partner Bonnie Zane and they worked their way up from assistants to casting associates under the expert guidance of Meg and Marc. 

Following Liberman/Hirschfeld, Gayle was hired as the Head of Talent and Casting at what was then the newly-formed Imagine Television where she oversaw the casting of many great shows including "Felicity" "Sports Night" "Wonderland" the David Lynch pilot-turned-feature "Mulholland Drive" and "24".

When her old friend Bonnie Zane encouraged her to leave Imagine to form a partnership, Gayle jumped at the chance and they've been working together for almost 10 years.
