WHY
ATTEND?
This event offers a unique opportunity
to view photos of all 348 works of art submitted
byIdaho teens. In
addition, you'll be the first to hear the Governor and First Lady
Otter announce the county level winners and
one statewide grand prize winner. Over $135,000 in prize money will
be given away! This event is open to the public and all are
encouraged to attend.
PARKING
Parking is available in downtown garages, paid lots, and in metered
spaces along city streets.
HOTEL INFORMATION
SpringHill Suites Boise ParkCenter, located at 424 East ParkCenter
Blvd, is offering all participants and their families traveling
into town for the Paint the State Gala a special room rate of
$69/night. Each room is a suite with two double beds, a sofa
sleeper, refrigerator and microwave. In order to guarantee your
rooms will need a credit card number. Call Jennifer Burton at

your room. Be sure to mention you are with the Idaho Meth
Project. There is a free shuttle to/from the airport, and to/from
downtown Boise.

ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: What should I wear to this
event?
A: Come as you are and wear whatever type of clothing you
feel comfortable in. No seating is available, so be sure to wear
comfortable shoes.
Q: Where do I go when I
arrive?
A: Go to the registration/information desk on the garden level of
the Capitol and check in with a volunteer. Check-in begins at
1pm.
Q: How will I know when my county is going to be
announced?
A: The program will begin with Ada county 3rd- 1st places and will
continue in alphabetical order through all 44 counties. The
statewide grand prize winner will be announced after the county
winners.
Q: What do I do if I am one of the
county winners?
A: You will see a photo of your artwork on the TV screens
throughout the rotunda, but you will not go on stage. After the
ceremony, county 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will have their
picture taken with the Governor and First Lady in the Visitors
Welcome Center near the registration desk on the garden
level.
Q: How long will the ceremony
last?
A: Approximately two hours (maximum)
Q: Will food and/or drinks be
served at this event?
A: Since the Idaho State Capitol recently underwent an extensive
renovation, it is not feasible for us to serve food or drinks at
this event. Drinking fountains are available on each floor of the
Capitol.
Q: If I win, when will I receive
my cash prize?
A: In order to receive a prize, both the artist and his/her
parent/guardian will need to sign a release form that will be
mailed to you a week after the event. Once we receive your release
form, your check will be mailed within 6-8 weeks.
Q: Who gets to have their picture
taken with the Governor and First Lady?
A: Only county winners and their group members (if applicable),
will get an opportunity to take a picture with the Governor and
First Lady following the ceremony. You will need to report to the
Visitor Welcome Center on the garden level of the Capitol to do
so.
Q: If I win and have my photo
taken with the Governor and First Lady, will I get a copy of the
photo?
A: The Idaho Meth Project will send a copy of the photo to your
home address. If you receive the photo and wish to order additional
copies, please email us at info@idahomethproject.org.
Q: I worked in a group for my
project, does everyone get a tote bag or certificate?
A: We will have extra T-shirts and tote bags available for team
members. Please visit the Information Desk on the garden level to
request additional bags or T-shirts. If you'd like to request
additional certificates for your group members, please inform our
volunteers when you pick up your extra shirts, or email us at
info@idahomethproject.org.
Q: Will there be a list of winners
posted somewhere?
A: There will be a list of winners posted on our Paint the State
website, www.paintthestateidaho.org, following the ceremony. You
will also be receiving an e-mail notification listing the
winners.
Q: Can we get a tour of the
Capitol?
A: There will be no official tours. However, there will be at least
two mobile guides on each floor to answer any questions you might
have. They will be available starting at 1:00 - 2:30, when the
ceremony begins, and also for a short period of time after the
ceremony.
Q: What if I am unable to attend?
A: If you are unable to attend the ceremony, your prize tote will
be mailed to you. If you would like additional T-shirts or
certificates for your group members, please call or email us. You
do not have to be present to win, and you may view a list of the
winners at www.paintthestateidaho.org beginning Friday evening
after the event.
