CAMBA's Wesner Pierre--Worldwide Notice!
CAMBA Vice President Wesner Pierre was among five people nominated worldwide to receive the 2019 American Express Leadership Academy Alumni Award. The award is for demonstrating strong leadership while continually impacting his or her community. Joining Wesner were nominees from India, Japan, Kenya and Singapore. On April 1st, the nominee from Japan was selected--but Wesner remains the USA winner with us!

Founded in 2008 in partnership with the Center for Creative Leadership, the American Express Leadership Academy builds the personal, business and leadership skills of emerging nonprofit leaders and social entrepreneurs through multi-day, in-person trainings. Wesner took part in the Academy in 2015. Since 2015, CAMBA retained a partnership with American Express. We are proud to share that American Express has accepted 12 CAMBA leaders to participate in 2019.
Run for CAMBA!
Junior Board member Jiaqi Duan
2018 runners with CAMBA President & CEO Joanne M. Oplustil (left).
Although Jiaqi Duan is fit, she says she is not a runner, but she'll do her best to finish the NYCRUNS Prospect Park 5k & 10k on Saturday, April 20th benefitting CAMBA. As a new member of CAMBA’s Junior Board, Jiaqi chose the 5k run as her personal fundraising effort. She reached out by email to work colleagues and others through social media. " I also reached out to close friends personally and asked them to donate whatever they can afford," said Jiaqi. She may not be the fastest runner, but she now leads the pack among all fundraisers with a total amount of $2,000 in contributions to her team.

You too can support CAMBA by contributing to fundraisers on our CrowdRise page or by starting your own fundraiser and encourage your friends and family to donate to build a better City. Click here to donate or start your fundraiser today and help CAMBA support New York communities in need.  If you're interested in running, please visit the NYCRUNS page to register for the race. As Jiaqi said, “By giving to CAMBA, I feel confident that the money will be put to good use."
