As the stock market sell-off occurs, based on recession fears, I think of a quote by General George S. Patton. Patton said, “Nobody ever defended anything successfully, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.” [1]
The natural inclination when things appear to be unfavorable is to retrench and retreat. While it is important to always understand the strength or weakness of your position (in this case in the market) and team (in this case the skills of your team, strengths of the dealership, etc.), your strategy needs should incorporate Patton’s statement. Somebody is going to win (get the truck sale, service the truck, sell the part) – it should be you.
