Main Street Revitalization

Construction Update

April 24, 2026

Traffic and Parking Impacts:

Week of 4/27-5/1:

  • Motorists can expect intermittent traffic shifts along Main Street between Stevens Street and Tigan Street. There is the potential for single lane closures with alternating one-way traffic later in the week. Two-way traffic will be maintained. Flaggers will be present to assist motorists through the area. On-street parking will be restricted during active work hours between Stevens Street and Tigan Street. No Parking signs will be installed.
  • Adjacent Project Impact: Huntington Homes
  • Temporary traffic holds of approximately 5-10 minutes on Main Street at 379 Main Street for modular unit delivery to the staging area. Traffic holds will take place twice a day Monday through Thursday, between 9-10 a.m. and 1:30-2:30 p.m.

Week of 5/4-5/8:

  • Major traffic pattern changes at the intersection of Main Street and Tigan Street throughout the week. Main Street will be reduced to a single lane with the intersection controlled by flaggers during active construction hours. May 4 and May 5, during active construction hours, Tigan Street will be closed at its intersection with Main Street while crews reconstruct the west side of the intersection. Tigan Street will be closed to thru traffic with access maintained via Weaver Street. May 6 through May 8, during daytime hours, traffic restrictions will be in place on Normand Street at its intersection with Tigan Street. More details will be provided.

Please note, there are no plans to resume 24/7, long-term travel restrictions throughout the project area. The long-term detour on Weaver Street will not be needed. Two-way travel along Main Street will be available; however, construction activities will require frequent traffic control and temporary closures. Short-term detours will be implemented as needed.

Property Impacts:

Week of 4/27-5/1:

  • There will be temporary driveway closures along the east side of Main Street starting at Burling Street, continuing north towards Tigan Street throughout the week for the installation of concrete sidewalks and select driveway aprons. Temporary driveway closures are estimated to take between 2 and 3 days, depending on whether the driveway apron is intended to be asphalt or concrete, respectively.

Week of 5/4-5/8:

  • Temporary driveway closures along the east side of Main Street north of Burling Street, will continue toward Tigan Street. See details above.
  • May 4 and May 5, Tigan Street will be closed at its intersection with Main Street. Residents on Tigan Street must use Weaver Street. Businesses north of Spring Street must use Weaver Street and Spring Street for deliveries.
  • May 6, 7, and 8, traffic restrictions at Normand Street, more details will be provided.

The contractor will notify impacted property owners, residents, and/or businesses ahead of time by knocking on doors and leaving notices. The notices have QR codes that link to videos with information in 14 additional languages.
