Construction Update
U.S. Route 7 and East Allen St.

TRAFFIC IMPACT:

Public/permitted parking along East Allen Street and at the top of the traffic circle will be restricted beginning Tuesday evening. Please observe signage and do not park in restricted areas. Cars parked in restricted areas will be towed.

One-way alternating traffic will be required during nighttime milling operations.

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES:

Work on this contract will be performed at night. Typical nighttime work hours are 7:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m. Sunday through Thursday night. It should be noted, however that work may be performed at times on Friday nights.

The contractor is scheduled to begin milling along East Allen St./Route 15 on Tuesday, 5/31/22 at 7:00 p.m. It is anticipated that milling operations will take three nights to complete.

Residents and business owners should anticipate increased noise levels during construction activities. The construction area will also have increased lighting overnight in order to ensure the safety of the crew. The contractor will take necessary measures to ensure noise levels remain within approved decibel levels.

The Winooski City Council has included VTrans on their meeting agenda for the purpose of presenting information in regard to the roadway project occurring in Winooski this summer and fall.

The purpose of this meeting is to present the public with information on the roadway project, including the scope of work to be performed, information on the construction schedule, and sources of information during construction. VTrans staff will be present to address any questions or concerns in regard to the work being performed and sources of information for this project.

LOCATION:  This project begins on US-7/US-2 (Colchester Ave) at the Winooski/Burlington Town Line and continues northerly along US-7/US-2 (Main Street) to the Winooski/Colchester Town Line. The project also begins at the Winooski Circulator on VT-15 (East Allen Street) and extends easterly along VT-15 (East Allen Street) to the Winooski/Colchester Town Line at the Class 1 Town Highway limit.
