Construction Update
U.S. Route 7 and East Allen St.
DATE: Friday, 7/1/22

TRAFFIC IMPACT:

One-way alternating traffic will be required in the vicinity of nighttime operations.

Please use caution and reduce speed when driving through the construction zone. Structures will remain raised until the wearing course of asphalt has been paved.

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES:

Work on the traffic island near Dion Street is scheduled for completion next week. Once work on this island has been completed, crews will begin working on the island near Manseau Street.

Removal of the concrete slabs on West Allen Street (near Four Quarters) is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, 7/5/22.

On the abutting Burlington roadway project, milling over the Winooski bridge, the intersection of Colchester Ave. and Riverside Ave. has been completed.

Holiday: In observance of the Fourth of July holiday, crews will not be working Friday night, 7/1 through Monday, 7/4. Work will resume on Tuesday, 7/5/22 at 7:00 p.m.
Work on this contract will be performed at night. Typical nighttime work hours are 7:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m. Sunday through Thursday night. It should be noted, however, that work may be performed at times on Friday nights.
Work will continue at the east end of the project nearest the interstate.
LOCATION:  This project begins on US-7/US-2 (Colchester Ave) at the Winooski/Burlington Town Line and continues northerly along US-7/US-2 (Main Street) to the Winooski/Colchester Town Line. The project also begins at the Winooski Circulator on VT-15 (East Allen Street) and extends easterly along VT-15 (East Allen Street) to the Winooski/Colchester Town Line at the Class 1 Town Highway limit.
