Construction Update
U.S. Route 7 and East Allen St.
DATE: Wednesday, 6/8/22

TRAFFIC IMPACT:

Public/permitted parking along East Allen Street and at the top of the traffic circle will be restricted as needed Wednesday, 6/8 and Thursday, 6/9. Parking will also be restricted Sunday, 6/12 through Thursday, 6/16. Please observe signage and do not park in restricted areas. Cars parked in restricted areas will be towed.

One-way alternating traffic will be required during nighttime paving operations.

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES:

Paving of all previously milled surfaces is scheduled for tonight, 6/8 and Thursday night, 6/9 weather and surface conditions permitting.
This leveling (or shim) course of asphalt is not the final product, and serves to correct any low spots or roadway deficiencies that exist after milling has been completed. Line striping on this course is temporary as well.

Rehabilitation of drainage structures will begin Sunday night, 6/12 and continue through Thursday, 6/16. This operation is of a more "static" nature and residents should expect sustained noise and lighting at the location of each structure.
Work on this contract will be performed at night. Typical nighttime work hours are 7:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m. Sunday through Thursday night. It should be noted, however, that work may be performed at times on Friday nights.
Paving will take place throughout the project area tonight and tomorrow night.
LOCATION:  This project begins on US-7/US-2 (Colchester Ave) at the Winooski/Burlington Town Line and continues northerly along US-7/US-2 (Main Street) to the Winooski/Colchester Town Line. The project also begins at the Winooski Circulator on VT-15 (East Allen Street) and extends easterly along VT-15 (East Allen Street) to the Winooski/Colchester Town Line at the Class 1 Town Highway limit.
