Construction Update
U.S. Route 7 and East Allen St.
DATE: Friday, 7/15/22

TRAFFIC IMPACT:

One-way alternating traffic will be required in the vicinity of nighttime operations.

Please use caution and reduce speed when driving through the construction zone. Structures will remain raised until the wearing course of asphalt has been paved.

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES:

Work on the island near Manseau Street is scheduled for completion next week. Please note that when traveling east on Route 15 (toward the interstate), the left hand turn onto Manseau Street has been eliminated in order to accommodate the increased size of the new pedestrian island at this location. The size of the pedestrian island is being changed in order to improve safety for pedestrians and the traveling public. Please observe all signage at this location, and proceed with caution.

Removal of the concrete slabs on West Allen Street and along 7N has been completed and these areas have been paved with a shim course of asphalt. Please be aware of transitions off of and onto these areas and use caution and reduced speeds when encountering these transitions.

On the abutting Burlington roadway project, paving along Riverside Ave. has been completed. On Sunday night (7/17) the contractor is scheduled to pave Colchester Avenue and the Winooski Bridge. Delays will occur.

Work on this contract will be performed at night. Typical nighttime work hours are 7:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m. Sunday through Thursday night. It should be noted, however, that work may be performed at times on Friday nights.
LOCATION:  This project begins on US-7/US-2 (Colchester Ave) at the Winooski/Burlington Town Line and continues northerly along US-7/US-2 (Main Street) to the Winooski/Colchester Town Line. The project also begins at the Winooski Circulator on VT-15 (East Allen Street) and extends easterly along VT-15 (East Allen Street) to the Winooski/Colchester Town Line at the Class 1 Town Highway limit.
