Born & raised in Westbury, Long Island, I moved up to Blooming Grove in July of 1986, shortly after marrying. Though I had always worked full-time while on Long Island, after moving here I decided to take a break. After a year of being home, I decided I needed to do something - even if it was only part-time. I eventually struck up a conversation with two of the clerks at Moffat Library and discovered they were looking for part-time help. I applied and got the job, which later became a full-time position. It didn't take much time at all before I felt as if I were "home."
"Home" is what the Moffat Library has always felt like to me. After Hurricane Irene, and the move to our temporary location, (although good after major renovation) it never felt like "Home." The children were truly missed.
Over the years, I have seen and been part of the many, many changes here at Moffat - from hand-stamping due date cards to now using our 3rd different online library
