Snow! Winter is actually here!

Whether you love it or would rather have year-round summer, winter has arrived with possible snow on the horizon!

MSY Winter Weather Policy

If MSY Cancels Class - If the studio cancels a class, our Punchpass registration system will email students who are registered in the cancelled class one to two hours before the beginning of the class. Your reservation will automatically be deleted and no pass credits will be used.  A general notice may also be sent to all students in a newsletter.

Please do not call the studio phone.

You decide not to come to class - If the studio holds the class but you don't feel safe driving there (or a snowdrift blocks your front door), simply delete your reservation or transfer it to another class in the Winter Session. The window for you to transfer or cancel a class reservation has been changed for the Winter Session to 1 hour ahead of the class's starting time .

Finding Balance--from the Outside-In

Saturday February 3, 2:00-4:00pm

taught by Edie Lazenby

How we stand reflects how we feel about ourselves, and how we interact with the world.

In this workshop, we will explore alignment principles from the bottom of the feet to the top of the head and how that affects various yoga poses, daily movement patterns, and even our minds. We will also consider how balance in our thoughts and feelings affects form, plus find the beauty in imbalance as a motivation for re-establishing balance.

Group of senior people doing yoga exercises

No experience necessary! All yoga poses will be built from the ground up and incorporate therapeutic principles applicable to beginners and experienced yogis alike.

Welcome Edie Lazenby to MSY!

Edie is an experienced and resourceful teacher, actively teaching yoga since 2004. Her specialty is therapeutic yoga, which informs all her teaching, but she loves teaching all styles of yoga. She believes all reasons are good reasons to practice yoga, whether for the physical challenge, relaxation, or spiritual upliftment that results from practice.

Her students' ages have ranged from toddlers to 90 year-old seniors.

She likes to have fun while inviting her students to listen to their body, always deferring to the wisdom of the student's body while keeping them safe. She also loves to write poetry and enjoys movies. Currently she works with special-needs teens in Baltimore.

You may have experienced Edie's creative and insightful teaching last Fall when she subbed several classes at MSY. Now come experience her wisdom and guidance in creating greater balance in your body and life!
