Winter : 2019
2019 has been full of resistance & love,
healing & uncertainty, heartbreak & joy.

We are so grateful to be in
conversation & in community with all of you
as we celebrate our survival & the new year.

Wishing you and yours abundance
& transformative justice in 2020.

We have been busy here on the Gulf Coast from Brownsville, Texas to Northwest, Florida; leading direct action trainings along the border, dreaming about and studying floating adaptations from Bulbancha (New Orleans) to Bengal, we built a Float Lab to be activated in the Spring of 2020, our collaborative has been fighting for and facilitating space for language justice in collaboration with the BanchaLenguas Language Justice Collective, we hosted a couple of cultural organizing salons, we've been tending to our medicine gardens and we're dreaming about water-banking and other real solutions & just transitions, accessible for all. Join us!

STOP LNG in the RGV
Bekah Hinojosa, a core leadership member of the Another Gulf Is Possible Collaborative, has been in Europe and in the UK, meeting with French Bank Societe Generale officials and others to demand they immediately withdraw from the Rio Grande LNG project and the Rio Bravo Pipeline.

The fracked gas project is proposed to be built near South Padre Island, TX on the Gulf Coast and would be the biggest polluter in a people of color community, unleashing massive amounts of greenhouse gases into the climate.  #StopRioGrandeLNG

This is the second time Bekah has met with Societe Generale as part of an active two-year-long campaign urging the bank to divest from Rio Grande LNG.

We need to stop Cork LNG, a proposed liquefied natural gas terminal which would import fracked gas from the United States into Cork harbour in Ireland.

In the News
On November 11, 2019, The   Intercept published an article  confirming our assumption that the US government/military is actively surveilling our peaceful resistance to the ongoing occupation, extraction, and oppression of Gulf Coast communities, cultures, and ecosystems – in this case, focusing on our work aiming to end the racist wall and protesting the unjust treatment of migrants and refugees at the US/Mexico border. Specifically, the article reveals the Pentagon was/is surveilling the groups that were involved with the Rio Bravo Action Camp, an event which we were primary organizers.
