Covid/Economy-Security Industry Effected by Price Increases and Parts Shortages

Mercury (Controller panels) and HID (iClass Cards) are just two of the major manufacturers facing supply shortages and reduction in their production output over the past year. Lack of components needed to build and workforce shortages are reasons behind production delays. Product delays have ranged from an extra week to up to a couple of months over normal lead times. The good news is both manufacturers mentioned have recently stated that they anticipate better delivery times during the 2nd quarter of 2022.

Until we get there, what can be done proactively?

Place new orders for product early to lock in todays prices and delivery.
Receive materials ordered ASAP even when site isn't ready for installation. In most cases we can hold one year parts warranty to start on install (up to 90 days unless other acceptance)
Order spare parts to stock on site

CBS Philly

Perimeter barrier gates were installed with employee proximity card access control and modifications/additions were done to existing fencing that restricts access to the surface parking lot. Our access control solution is Brivo’s cloud-based security proximity card access control which is being used with current employee HID proximity cards. All software management functions are governed and performed using the Brivo Cloud Entry System Manager App (IOS or Android) via a cellular router interface. All existing client access transactions are logged for billing purposes.

Installation was completed in December and the client is very happy with our installation and the systems functionality and performance

Log4Shell is a software vulnerability. Attackers can exploit this vulnerability by gaining access to computers or devices remotely. This vulnerability effects every industry.

Below are recent updates from our major product software manufacturers on where their products stand with LOG4SHELL.

Based on our current analysis, the following Motorola Solutions products are not affected by the Log4J vulnerability:

Avigilon Control Center (ACC) 6.x and 7.x
Avigilon Cloud Services (ACS)
Avigilon HD, H3, H4 and H5 cameras
Avigilon 4-port encoders
Avigilon Presence Detector (APD)
Access Control Manager (ACM)
ACM Expedite
Mercury Hardware
HID VertX EVO Hardware

You do not need to take any action to safeguard your system, as Eagle Eye Networks has already applied the patch to resolve the vulnerability.

On Dec. 11, 2021 Apache released a patch to fix the vulnerability, and the Eagle Eye security team has deployed the fix. Our security team continues to monitor updates and announcements from official sources.

LenelS2 OnGuard® software version 8.0 patch: A revised patch for OnGuard software versions 8.0 and 8.0 Update 1 is now available, as are updated .ISO images for these versions with the patch already installed. These update the Log4j version to 2.17.1. The files can be downloaded by authorized users from LenelS2 Partner Center by selecting Downloads > OnGuard > OnGuard 8.0.

PremiSys is not affected by this vulnerability, Log4j2 is used for Java-based applications and PremiSys is written in C#/.Net platforms.

netPark has no production component which utilizes Log4J.

Meet Whit Schwinn

Whit has been with our company for over 10 years and works on our installation teams. He specializes in parking, parking revenue and building access systems.

Whit and his wife Patty have three sons. As a family they enjoy skiing, golfing and spending time in the Poconos, where Whit is originally from.

Whit is one of those guys that’s good at the things that he enjoys doing and golf is no exception. Each year we have a i2 Security team golf outing and I don’t believe that Whit has ever lost!
