Nurse Residency Program

The Collaborative aims to increase the use of standardized, high-quality nurse residency programs across the state through the implementation of the Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program.

There are now 23 hospitals (16 in the GAINS Grant) participating in the Nurse Residency Collaborative. NJCCN has registered 2,564 residents from August 10, 2020 - December 20, 2023. The NJ turnover rate is 11.8% . The first year turnover rate nationally is 32.8% . This demonstrates a return on investment (ROI) for organizations.

Please contact Dr. Edna Cadmus at ednacadm@sn.rutgers.edu if you are interested in joining the Collaborative.

Virtual Schwartz Rounds

Join Us to Talk, Listen, & Share

What are Virtual Schwartz Rounds? VSR are remote convenings that take place online using Zoom. They provide a forum for connecting with nursing colleagues facing challenging experiences while trying to care for themselves and others. They are opportunities to connect with one another about difficult or uplifting experiences, to offer and to receive support, and to decrease a sense of isolation.
