It’s December, and that means OVV is filled with holiday excitement!

With just a week left before winter break, our children are full of anticipation for the holiday season and our classrooms and hallways are covered in decorations. The OVV staff took their
very first construction tour!
To kick off 2023, the OVV staff took a tour of the
construction site. With Executive Director Maria Sentelik as their guide, they got a sneak peak of the new wing. What an inspiring way to start the new year!

Supporter Spotlight - Molly Bradfish-Pinson
Despite living just three miles down the road from OVV, Molly Bradfish-Pinson never knew what the early intervention program was. “I thought it was a church!” she jokes.

This changed when Molly’s twin sons, SJ and Quinn, were born prematurely at twenty-nine weeks old. After spending their first few months in the hospital with health complications, the boys were able to go home. Another complication soon became apparent: SJ had hearing loss.... (read more)
Thank you, Sandra Mills for your Contribution to OVV
Sandra Mills served on our Board of Trustees since February of 2020 first as the Board Secretary and then as Board Treasurer. She was introduced to Executive Director, Maria Sentelik, in 2019 and joined the Board to assist with our Silence to Speech campaign.
 
The most rewarding part of serving on the Board was “attending the November 2022 in person Board meeting at OVV and being able to see the expansion construction project after years of planning and fundraising,” she states. Sandra, thank you, for your hard work and dedication to Ohio Valley Voices and our mission of teaching children that are deaf and hard of hearing to listen and speak!
Program Update
The children of OVV started 2023 with fun activities!
The toddlers are happy to be back! They are enjoying making bird feeders, shoveling snow and more!
The EC has started their snow and winter theme! They are learning about the fun things they can do in the snow.
The DC is doing a 'Welcome Winter Unit.” They are excited to do ice experiments, build snowmen and learn about winter clothes.
This week in the LC, students are using hands-on tools like cotton balls, cubes, and whiteboard markers to learn subtraction!
