The Community Bots:

Creating Tomorrow's Innovators Today

Winter 2026 Newsletter

What's New with The Bots?

We're thrilled to announce two new partner programs -- Growing Up Green Charter School, our second NYC school, and the Fundación Pies Descalzos' (FPD) Nuevo Bosque School in Barranquilla, Colombia. FPD was established by Grammy-winning Colombian singer, songwriter, and producer Shakira, and will be our third partner program in Colombia.

We have already initiated our teacher training using CoderZ's platform, an 8-week online STEM-robotics course followed by summer 2026 in-person training, complete with donations of laptops and Lego kits.

These incredible girls from both partner programs will learn to code, build, and become the innovative problem-solvers our world needs. As the Growing Up Green School Leader, Anabel Schmelz shared, this is about nurturing "innately curious learners, compassionate critics, and passionate challengers of the status quo."

José Lorenzo Castro Rodríguez, Principal of Nuevo Bosque Pies Desclazos School, states that our partnership "will foster the development of the girls' social, technological, and mathematical skills, the productive use of their free time, the promotion of teamwork, and especially the empowerment of women in STEM fields to address the problems and demands of the modern world."

News from our Executive Director

Executive Director Jack Cooley shares highlights from our expanding mentoring program that connects women in STEM fields from ServiceNow and Amazon with our girls in Colombia, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic.
