You may not know it, but your presence speaks. Your smile, your patience, your quiet prayers, your willingness to show grace--these things shape the spiritual climate around you.

When you choose to build up instead of tear down...

• you model Christlike love,
• you strengthen discouraged hearts, and
• you protect the unity of the body.

You don't have to be perfect. You just have to stay open to the Holy Spirit's gentle nudges. He will help you choose life-giving words, even on the days you feel drained.

Last quarter I shared with you Dr. Faye Kazzi's special You Tube channel for Adventist Women. Her most recent video really hit home for me regarding how much my presence affects the atmosphere around me. I'd like to share it with you here for reflection and to fill out these devotional thoughts and hopefully encourage you as you enter this new year and make those new year's goals!
