Gymnastics has gotten off to a strong start, including maintaining a four-year regular season win streak! The wins this year have truly been a team effort, with almost every member contributing counting scores, and five different athletes (Dylan Kelly, Caitlyn Adkins, Viviana Corsini, Claire Spinosa and Mari Puckett) winning event titles. Last week, senior Claire Spinosa broke the school record on beam with a 9.8, winning the event versus seven KingCo 3A/4A schools!
Our next home meet is this Friday, Jan. 17 at 7 p.m. Come support this amazing team, admission is free! We are also hosting the 3A District 2 State Qualifier on Saturday, Feb. 15 and could use many students needing Service Learning hours or adult volunteers to assist throughout the day. Email ballardgymnastics@gmail.com for more info.

As the 2024-25 Bowling Season comes to an end, the Ballard Bowlers are heading into the playoffs wrapping up our best season yet! We’re currently sitting at 7 wins and 5 losses, besting our previous season high of 3 wins. Senior Captain Zoe Thompson and newcomer Isabell Brady are leading the team with 112 and 113 averages respectively, and we have a total of six girls with averages over 100! I’m so proud of all of these girls and all of the hard work they’ve put into this season. I can’t wait to see how we do in the playoffs! The Metro Roll-Offs are 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27 at West Seattle Bowl, and the Metro Championships are Wednesday, Jan. 29 at Bowlero. GO BALLARD!

Nick of Time EKG Youth Heart Screening January 8 | |
More than 600 Ballard students were provided with a free EKG screening by Nick of Time Foundation medical professional volunteers Jan. 8 in the Main Gym. The Athletic Booster Club was proud to partner with the Ballard High School Foundation and the Ballard High School PTSA to provide a Hospitality Suite for the visiting volunteers from the Nick of Time Foundation. The event marked the nonprofit group's 100th screening and was held in honor of a beloved BHS student who passed away last summer due to a heart arrythmia event.

SUPPORT BALLARD ATHLETICS!
ATTEND OUR NEXT MONTHLY BOARD MEETING:
Monday, February 10 at 6:30 p.m.
Online Via Zoom
(Zoom link will be posted closer to meeting date on ABC website)
| |
The Ballard High School Athletic Booster Club is a volunteer group working together to support, promote, and advocate for all BHS athletes. We are especially interested in promoting school-wide community and helping remove barriers to play.
We meet monthly during the school year, alternating between in-person (in the BHS Staff Room) and online via Zoom, and everyone is invited to join us.
ABC Board Welcomes!
Welcome to Alexis Cruikshank who will be serving as bookkeeper for the Athletic Booster Club (ABC) and Ballard High School PTSA. Alexis has also agreed to serve as Treasurer when longtime ABC Treasurer Tiffany Volosin graduates in June. Thanks also to Kim Courtney who has agreed to take on the role of ABC Secretary.
We are still looking for a Website Editor (general upkeep and posting on existing site) and Community Outreach Chair (fundraising event planning and support). The Website Editor position is only a few hours a month, while the Community Outreach Chair has seasonal events to plan for and is a great role for party planners. For more information on either role, please reach out to ABC President Suzanne Dale Estey at suzanne@daleesteyresults.com.

I want to support BHS athletes! What can I do?
-
Please support the Athletic Booster Club by donating! Your donations directly support our efforts to support all student athletes.
-
Buy and wear Beaver Gear, especially when you are out supporting our Beavers at sporting events.
- Plan on attending the various social and fundraising events we host throughout the school year. Help us build community while we celebrate our athletes!
-
Become a team rep or offer to help your existing team rep – volunteering to help out with a team's administrative, fundraising, or communications means the coach has more time to focus on athletes.
- Make a direct donation to your team!
