All women are invited to join this Bible Study group that meets Wednesday evenings and is led by Erica Ciro. We're starting with a 5-session video based Bible study called Present Over Perfect: learn to leave behind busyness and frantic living and rediscover the person you were made to be. See a video with more information on the study here. Contact Erica with questions or to join the group [email protected]
Contemporary Worship Service Update
We're working diligently on building up the new 10:45 service! Contemporary music fans have gathered to support us for the few weeks as we get things started. Worship leader Jimmy O'Connell leads with inspiring songs, while professional sound engineer Jeremy Kollross drives the soundboard. Last week we added a confidence monitor to the back of the Gym so that the people up on stage can see what's happening on the screens without having to turn around and look behind them. We're moving forward and eagerly waiting for new tech and sound equipment to arrive.
We've added Kid's Crafts to our Sunday service schedule. During all Sunday services (8:00, 10:30 & 10:45), craft supplies are given to children right before the sermon to keep them entertained while parents listen; the kids are then encouraged to show their creations when the sermon is done.
SING & PLAY
Wednesdays 11:00-11:45 AM
Have an 18-month to preschool age child & need to get out of the house for some play time? Immanuel offers a free, drop-in, parent-toddler program just for you! Sing & Play focuses on discovering new experiences and building skills through play. This class is designed to build on the love between parent and child through interaction and cooperation with each other, with the teacher, and with other children and their parents. The class period is filled with fingerplays, songs, and movement designed especially for young children. No registration is required and siblings are always welcome. Contact Kari Larsen with questions [email protected].
Join us as we start new a study on the Holy Spirit: The general public recognizes the name, person, and work of Jesus Christ; but what do those outside the church know about the 3rd person of the Trinity? What do people inside the church know about this Holy Spirit? We will explore several topics including Who the Holy Spirit is, What His role is, and How He carries out His work. There is no need to register for the class, just show up. If you have any questions or are interested in attending virtually, please email Bob Schmidt at [email protected] or Elvin
Harms at [email protected].
Everyone is invited to participate in the 2022 All Immanuel-Lazarus House Chili Cook-Off. Lazarus House clients will be invited to vote for their favorite chili and the winning chef will receive a special trophy. Immanuel prepares dinner for the third Friday of each month at Lazarus House homeless shelter in St. Charles. Member donations also provide third Saturday breakfast and lunch items. To participate in the Chili Cook-Off, bring your prepared chili in a disposable container to Immanuel by 5:30 PM on Fri., Feb. 18. Look for the black Jeep--we will transport the meals to Lazarus House. If you would like to donate to the meal, but prefer not to provide chili, the following items are also requested: chopped onions, shredded cheddar cheese, corn muffins, sour cream, saltine crackers, bags tossed salad, butter, 20 meat and cheese sandwiches, yogurt, bagels, milk, orange juice, and breakfast cereal. To sign up to participate, visit volunteersignup.org/XJEJL. Interested in learning more about how to serve our neighbors at Lazarus House? Contact Lori St.Vincent at 630.251.5493. Thank you!
