REMINDER: Winter Break Feb. 20-24

All schools and district offices will be closed for Winter Break next week. Students and staff will return to campus Monday, Feb. 27.

Carrollton City Schools announces school changes for next year

Growth in the Carrollton community is prevalent and Carrollton City Schools has felt the impact in its schools with more students joining the Trojan Nation each year. Because of this trend, two schools in the district will make changes to accommodate the increase in enrollment next year.

CJHS MATHCOUNTS team sends four to state competition

Four students on Carrollton Junior High School's MATHCOUNTS team will advance to state competition following the team's finish in the chapter competition on Feb. 3 at the University of West Georgia, continuing the rich tradition of state representation from CJHS since 1992.

CHS named AP Honor School for 13th consecutive year

Carrollton High School's STEM initiative and the school's focus on increasing Advanced Placement course offerings and student participation have once again earned CHS state recognition as an AP STEM School in two categories.

This is the 13th consecutive year the high school has received the AP STEM School honor and the 12th time for the AP STEM Achievement School designation.

Special guests read to young Trojans

Dr. Tressa Kelly, Mr. Samuel Gentry, and Wolfie from the University of West Georgia read to second-grade Trojans this week. Dr. Kelly read the book "Wolfie Finds His Howl" — a story of how Wolfie became the mascot for UWG.

CHS seniors qualify for Georgia SkillsUSA competition following region

Three Carrollton High School seniors brought home hardware from the Region 3 SkillsUSA competition Jan. 27, including two first place awards, and have qualified for the state championships next month.

CUES students write and illustrate children's books

As part of the gifted program at Carrollton Upper Elementary, sixth-grade students are given the opportunity to write and illustrate children's books. Last week, the students had the privilege of reading their books to the youngest Trojans in the district at Carrollton Elementary. These young authors did a wonderful job, and the tiny Trojans shared kind feedback and asked great questions.
