Club Equipment Update – Ice Scraper

Our current ice scraper has served the club well for 23 years, but it is nearing the end of its service life. The club is now in the early stages of planning for a replacement ice scraper.

This is a significant investment, and we are beginning to explore directed fundraising ideas to help make this happen. We welcome suggestions and ideas from members on how we can work together to fund this important piece of equipment.

More information will be shared as plans develop.

Curling Day in Canada

Curling Day in Canada is a celebration of the sport and the stories that make curling so special. It’s a nationwide rally around curling, community, and the personal experiences that connect us to the game.

Each year, curlers, clubs, and fans are encouraged to share their own stories about how curling has impacted their lives and communities. As part of this celebration, a national contest invites curlers to submit their stories, with the most-voted story winning a trip to the 2027 Tim Hortons Brier.

We’re proud to share that our own curler, Loretta Wittur, submitted a Winfield Curling Club story. Thank you, Loretta, for sharing your story and helping represent our club as part of Curling Day in Canada!

🧹 Curling Etiquette Reminder – Clean Shoes

Please help keep our ice clean by ensuring your shoes are free of debris before stepping onto the ice.

You can help by using the boot cleaner, borrowing curling shoes or using grippers when needed.

For convenience, new grippers are available for purchase in the office for $20 each, making it easy to switch when needed.

Thank you for helping protect our ice and everyone’s game!
