Cabin Fever 2023

Renfrew County 2023 Ontario Winter Games will be taking place February 2 - 5 and 9- 12. Athletes will compete in a variety of events throughout the region as they expand their bid to represent Canada, one day, in the Olympics. Events are free to attend subject to venue capacity. They are still seeking volunteers for anyone who is willing to contribute some of their time.

The following events are currently scheduled to occur in Petawawa:

• February 2 - 5 - Artistic Swimming and Fustal at Dundonald Hall on Garrison Petawawa
• February 9 - 12 - Sledge Hockey at the Petawawa Civic Centre, Badminton at Dundonald Hall and Kick Boxing at Valour School

Planning and Development staff have worked with WSP to update our municipal Sign By-law.  On Tuesday, January 24, 2023, staff will facilitate an Open House at 1111 Victoria Street, Council Chambers from 5 pm - 8 pm where businesses, commercial property owners, and the public can gather to provide input and comment on the proposed changes to the Sign By-law.  Our current and draft Sign By-law are available on the municipal website.

This would also be a great time to learn about the municipal Community Improvement Plan (CIP) and how this grant program may assist your business with any façade, accessibility, signage, or parking lot improvements.

Following our public meeting, subject to potential revision, the proposed Sign By-law will go to Council for endorsement in the first quarter of 2023.
