Winter Firepits & Music, Read & Explore Program, and Winter Fun at Terhune Orchards

It's January at the farm, which means that Read & Explore season is almost here! Don't miss this fun and educational experience for your little ones: we combine hands-on activities with listening to a story for a great cure for cabin fever and a way to stay connected to the farm during the winter months.

Looking for a fun outing this weekend? Get cozy in our warm and toasty wine barn or huddle up next to the firepits with hot cocoa, s'mores, and hot mulled wine for the grownups. We have a great line-up of local music with different musicians playing every weekend!

Join us for winter cheer in the winery and meet up with family and friends to enjoy live music every Saturday and Sunday this January. Seating is available indoors amongst the wine tanks in our cozy wine barn and outdoors with firepits. Enjoy hot mulled wine, tasting flights of Terhune favorite wines, and wine by the glass.

All ages can have fun with s’mores and hot cocoa kits. Light bites of cheese plates and chips & salsa baskets are available at the winery. Perfect to enjoy with a glass of wine by the fire.

Styles range from Jazz and Blues to Folk and Rock.

Music is from 1pm-4pm. View music schedule here.

Read & Explore: Gingerbread Man

Next Tuesday, January 13 & Saturday, January 17 at 10am

Enjoy fun on the farm in winter! Read & Explore is a fun and educational program that combines hands-on activities with listening to a story. This hands-on educational program is a great cure for cabin fever and a way to stay connected to the farm during the winter months.

We will read “The Gingerbread Man” and then each child will decorate a big gingerbread man cookie to take home. Kids will be amazed at how many gingerbread man ingredients come from farms.

Pre-registration is required.

$12 per participating child and includes the activity.

Save the Date for Our Annual Holiday Wassail

Sunday February 1, 1-4pm

Raise a glass of hot cider with us as Terhune Orchards honors the trees that give us our wonderful apples. The ancient British tradition of wassailing the apple trees to protect them from harm is a popular winter celebration at Terhune Orchards that you won’t want to miss!

Activities include singing, dancing, playing of primitive instruments, and toasts of hot cider and placing gifts of cider-soaked bread in the tree branches while chanting the lively words of praise and New Year. The Handsome Molly Dancers and Kingsessing Morris Dancers will lead us in festive singing and dancing to ensure our orchards have a good harvest in 2026.

Warm yourself next to our bonfire (marshmallow roasting included). Live music will be performed all afternoon by Spiced Punch. The festivities are free and open to the public, young and old. Winery and Barn Door Café will be open.
