The primary mission of the fund is to recognize and support educators, who offer extraordinary gifts to their students, and promote teaching excellence in the secondary schools within the Berkshire Taconic community.

This grant provides flexible funding to allow an organization to seize an opportunity to refine their strategy, invest in board development, and evaluate and refine program delivery at a time when their missions are needed most by the communities they serve. We particularly seek projects that strengthen the governance and diversity of smaller nonprofit boards.

The BEE Fund supports nonprofit organizations, public agencies, schools or civic community entities for projects focused on water quality and related land issues. Grants currently focus on grassroots organizations with preference for water-related educational projects that will engage Berkshire County youth.

This grant supports organizations that work to ensure all people in Columbia County, especially households with limited resources, have access to fresh and healthy food. This includes providing immediate access to healthy food for the food insecure while simultaneously transforming the food system to increase long-term access for everyone in Columbia County.
