Winter Newsletter 2024–25

The dormant time of year is the perfect opportunity for us to see how our new Cabernet Sauvignon trellis system is maturing. We are experimenting with modified gobelet trellis' rather than cordon trained as this approach allows better light exposure for the fruit and increased protection from the hot Paso Robles sun.

New Releases and Harvest Results

The 2022 Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir that we released to Club Members this past Fall will be available to the public this Spring. The case production for this vintage was only 120 cases, so quantities are very limited.

Our next release will be our 2023 Fiddlestix Pinot Noir for which we utilized 40% whole cluster fermentation. Club Members will see this in their Spring shipment and the public will have access to any leftovers in the Fall.

That leads us to Harvest 2024! Challenging weather resulted in a 30% drop in yield, but we saw excellent quality and are excited to share updates with you as these wines journey 20 months in French oak barrels and then to bottle.

With the arrival of the New Year, we would be remiss to not think back on the highlights of 2024. For Roger, having all three granddaughters visit wins top prize, by far. Though they had a bit more interest in the pool than the vineyard, he looks forward to that changing over time.

From the whole team here at RN Estate, we thank you for your continued support and wish you the best in 2025!
