Winter Lesson Registration is Now Open!

Dear Current and Prospective Clients,

As winter approaches, we look forward to welcoming riders into our Winter 2026 lesson session. Winter is a great time to focus on consistency, skill development, and steady progress in a structured program.

The Winter 2026 session will run for 10 weeks, except for SUNDAYS which will run for 6 weeks. Please note that the following Sundays will not run: January 11, January 18, February 1, and February 8 due to OCEA shows being hosted at the farm.

For 2026, the base cost for group lessons has been adjusted to support program quality, horse care, and instruction. Lesson packages continue to offer a 5% discount compared to pay-as-you-go pricing, and boarders who lesson on their own horse receive an increased 15% discount.

As always, priority scheduling will be given to current boarders, part-boarders, and returning lesson clients. Any remaining spaces will be offered to new riders based on availability and the best fit for instructors, horses, and arena time.

🚫 No Sunday Lessons On: January 11, January 18, February 1, and February 8.

🕑 Private & Semi-Private Lessons: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–2:00 PM only

Semi-private lessons are for two riders of similar skill levels who can ride together at the same time. We cannot accept single-rider registrations for semi-private lessons. Please note your riding partner in the comments section of your registration form.

WINTER SESSION PRICING

JANUARY 5 - MARCH 15

LESSON SESSION PAYMENT OPTIONS

• Lesson package payment is now required at the time of registration to secure your spot. Registrations without payment will not be added to the schedule.

• If you have arranged to pay as you go (cash, cheque or e-transfer only, no package discount) your payment is due at the start of each lesson. You must contact us directly by phone or email to arrange a pay as you go plan.

• The option to pay for lesson packages by credit card is available only through the online registration form. Please have your payment method ready, as the form may time out and we cannot issue a new payment link. 

• Payments by e-transfer (strongly preferred - no processing fee!) should be sent to payments@oldorchardfarm.ca. Please include a note indicating session type and rider name so that we can apply your payment quickly and efficiently.

• If you wish to pay by cheque (made out to Old Orchard Farm) or cash, you must contact us to confirm when and how you will be submitting your payment. This ensures we can confirm receipt and place the rider on the schedule. Registrations without confirmed payment arrangements will not be scheduled.

• Any Cheque returned NSF by your bank will be subject to a $50.00 administration charge.



• All riders, or their parent/guardian, must complete an online registration package and sign a separate release form before riding at Old Orchard Farm.

LESSON CANCELLATION & MAKE UP POLICY

• We require a minimum of 24 hours notice if you are unable to attend your lesson. Please let us know as far in advance as you can, as this will affect how we schedule the horses for that day (and it is helpful for us to know if we will have extra space to add others for make up lessons etc).

• Group lesson packages are sold at a discounted rate and are non-refundable.

• If a lesson is cancelled by Old Orchard Farm or your instructor, a make-up class will be arranged.

• For lessons you miss due to personal reasons (not cancelled or rescheduled by OOF or your instructor), there is a maximum of one (1) make-up lesson per session. Missed lessons can only be made up by joining another regularly scheduled lesson within the same package period. It is your responsibility to arrange this with your instructor, please do not wait until the final week of the session.

• We do not offer separate or private lessons to make up for classes missed for personal reasons.

• There are no refunds for lessons you miss and cannot make up within the session. Please do your best to attend your scheduled lesson times.

A Note About Make-Up Lessons

In most sports and activities, if you miss a class, it’s simply forfeited and no make-up is offered. At Old Orchard Farm, we know that life doesn’t always go as planned, so we do our best to help. We offer up to one make-up lesson per session for classes missed for personal reasons. This is above and beyond standard practice, and is provided as a courtesy to our riders.

When you book a lesson, your instructor, your horse, and the facilities are reserved just for you. Even if you can’t attend, those resources have already been prepared and scheduled, which is why payment is still required for missed lessons. While we’ll always try to find you a make-up slot within our existing schedule, please understand that these opportunities can’t be guaranteed.
