The Library is excited to announce a substantial increase to its collection through a generous donation from the Quebec Literacy Foundation. This contribution includes an abundance of new books that cater to diverse age groups, featuring beautiful picture books as well as engaging young adult and teen literature. The Quebec Literacy Foundation's support underscores a shared commitment to promoting literacy across communities.
In a further stride towards inclusivity, the Library has collaborated with Honeybooks, a local, female-owned, black-owned bookstore located in NDG/Cote St. Luc. A preliminary book order has been placed, focusing on curating a selection of diverse, inclusive, and positive books. This initiative aligns with the Library's dedication to offering a wide array of literature that reflects the richness of varied perspectives.
As part of ongoing efforts, the Library continues to welcome and collect appropriate donations, ensuring that the literary landscape remains dynamic. The process involves meticulously sorting through existing materials to create space for the new additions. Looking ahead, another book order is on the horizon, with a keen focus on acquiring the most loved books as per the preferences of the children in the community. This inclusive selection will feature beloved series such as Babysitters Club, various Manga, and Anime, fostering a vibrant reading environment for readers of all ages. The Library extends its gratitude to contributors and the community for their ongoing support in shaping a literary haven that reflects the many interests of its readers.
