Sustainability Initiatives at The Bloomsbury

This recent change also motivated the team to embark upon a journey to integrate responsible business practices within their operations and consequently decided to work with the Considerate Group for this endeavour.
As a hotel, they are fully committed to sustainability on all levels, which was highlighted by winning the Luxury Travel Guides Luxury Eco-friendly hotel of the year!

Tyram Lakes Resort and Spa is a new development being built in Yorkshire and includes 325 luxurious designer-styled lodges and a 104 bedroom boutique hotel and spa with lakeside view fine dining, conference and meeting facilities. Additionally, the venue will serve as a picturesque wedding and party venue. The spa and leisure facilities include an indoor pool, outdoor pool, a leisure club, a superior spa and a state-of-the-art gymnasium.
The first phase of the development involves 50 floating lodges and
Geyser Thermal Energy Ltd
(
GTE) was tasked with designing a heating and water treatment system for the resort that focused on energy efficiency and sustainability.

T4T Awards Finalists Announced!

The World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) recently announced the 15 finalists for its 2019 Tourism for Tomorrow Awards. The 2019 finalists are organised into the following new categories:
Climate Action, Investing in People, Destination Stewardship, Social Impact

The WTTC Tourism for Tomorrow Awards, now in their fifteenth year, showcase business practices of the highest standards that balance the needs of ‘people, planet and profits’ within the Travel & Tourism sector.
All 15 finalists illustrate a strong commitment to supporting change, transformation in business practices and consumer behaviour towards a more environmentally conscious sector. The winners will be announced during the awards ceremony at the 19

Heckfield Place - Rooted in Nature

We are delighted to introduce our newest Considerate Hoteliers member – the recently opened and widely acclaimed
Heckfield Place located in a secluded corner of Hampshire. This 45-room hotel is rooted in nature.
Centred on sustainability, Heckfield’s biomass centre powers water and central heating along with an aerobic digester that’s used to process all recyclable waste and provide compost for the garden.

has been recognised amongst some of the world’s most renowned apparel and textile brands in a leading industry benchmark report into the sourcing of sustainable fibres and adoption of responsible supply networks. The report was compiled by global non-profit organisation
Textile Exchange
which promotes the adoption of preferred fibre and materials, manufacturer integrity and standards, and responsible supply networks.

Sustainable Hotel of the Year for their commitment to the environment and the local community.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are 17
global goals developed by the United Nations for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Embracing a wide range of environmental, social and economic issues, these 17 goals with their 169 associated targets aim to connect business strategies to global priorities for people and planet.
Considerate Group have developed a toolkit for our members specifically designed to help hospitality businesses to implement and monitor the SDGs. The first part was distributed in December, with the second part to be sent next month.
