Shipboard Science Workshop Application Deadline Soon

 

When: July 713, 2025


Where: Set sail on Lake Michigan, beginning and ending in Milwaukee, WI


Who: Formal 5-12th grade teachers and nonformal educators from the Great Lakes states


What: Spend a week with 14 other educators working alongside scientists aboard the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency R/V Lake Guardian on Lake Michigan. The annual workshop promotes Great Lakes literacy while forging relationships between researchers and educators.

Crayfish and Freshwater Ecosystems Curriculum Workshop 


When: April 15, 2025, 8:00 am−3:30 pm CT


Where: Dunes Learning Center at Indiana Dunes National Park, 700 Howe Rd., Chesterton, IN 46304


Who: 6-12th grade and non-formal educators teaching in Great Lakes states


What: A day-long, interactive workshop offering professional development hours through hands-on curriculum activities and participatory science aligned with Common Core and NGSS

Earth Systems: A Great Lakes Perspective


When: August 8−9, 2025


Where: Dunes Learning Center at Indiana Dunes National Park, 700 Howe Rd., Chesterton, IN 46304


Who: Open to all 5-12th grade formal and non-formal educators 


What: A two-day, water-themed workshop for educators to explore the natural world, network, and receive exclusive access to the newest Project WET Educator's Guidebook: Water in Earth Systems. Registration will open late-February/early-March.

Know Your H2O Curriculum


Who: 9-12th grade educators with a freshwater aquarium in their classroom


What: Pilot testing a new NGSS-aligned curriculum for the Know Your H2O water quality test kits, which includes three multi-day lessons, taking up to six class periods


When: Feedback needed by June 30, 2025
