WINTER NEWS 2021
Since 2017, PetSmart Charities® has supported Pets in Need with grants totaling more than $200,000. A 2019 grant provided state-of-the-art surgical and dental equipment for our new Advanced Care Suite and a current two-year grant is supporting the operation of the new suite.

We’re beyond thankful for the ongoing support of PetSmart Charities and their efforts to increase access to veterinary care for low-income families.

The leading funder of animal welfare in North America, PetSmart Charities has donated more than $450 million to positively impact communities, to connect people and pets, to help preserve families, and to improve access to veterinary care.
Dr. Colleen Black
FIVE years of helping PIN pets and their people
A special shout-out to one of PIN's unsung heroes, Colleen Black, DVM! A 1998 graduate of Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Black has been practicing for 23 years. She works at VCA Lakota Hills Animal Hospital three days a week and at PIN on Wednesdays. Dr. Black is passionate about her profession and is a champion for our mission. And -- our clients and their pets adore her!

Dr. Black's family includes her husband, two daughters, a 10-year-old pit bull mix named Yami, and Bea, a 4-year-old cattle dog mix. Both pups are rescues - her favorite breed.

Thank you, Dr. Black, for your ongoing dedication, compassion, and commitment!
Welcome, Sarah!
Sarah Abufarhah recently joined the PIN team as practice manager and we can’t imagine anyone more qualified for this important role. “I grew up with financial struggles, so I totally get where our clients are coming from. My pets have always helped me through rough days, and they make good days even better.”

After graduating from Miami University, Sarah was driven to help others, including working at a boys’ home, a preschool, and the Boys and Girls Club. Then, led by her passion for animals, she worked at a private veterinary practice for four years. At Pets In Need, she says she’s "found her place". “I hope to be here for a long time!”
Many thanks to Montgomery Animal Hospital!
‌
Our heartfelt appreciation to the staff and clients of Montgomery Animal Hospital. For the third year, a holiday drive collected a boatload of supplies for PIN. (A special thank you to Dr. Krumanaker for personally delivering everything!) It's all being put to good use.

A Few Words that Say So Much
"You guys are the best! Cleo is the first dog in my life. I never knew love like this before and I'm so grateful to PIN for helping me take care of her. She's all I have. Thank you!"
— Linda D.

Heartthrob Cleo (and all pets) have the ability to change lives. We're glad we can be there for them.
