Snowmobile and HikingTrails App
The Chamber o f Commerce has completed phase one of the Hiking portion of the Snowmobile and Hiking App. Phase two is in progress adding an updated snowmobile map and photos. If you already have our app, you will be alerted that the update is available. New users may download it FREE at the App Store or visit Priestlake.org and find the link on the homepage. You'll learn all about the hiking and snowmobile trails in the Priest Lake area with this interactive mobile app. No Internet is required to view the trails and maps. The app includes beautiful imagery of the lake, snowmobile trails, and winter recreation. Use the app to learn more about Priest Lake or as a companion guide during your stay.

Snowmobilers Winter Paradise
Catch Our Drifts
 Priest Lake offers family friendly snowmobiling on 400 miles of uncrowded groomed trails that wind through heavy timber, endless windswept ridges and snow filled bowls with three huts where you can warm up. The highest peaks range from 6000 to 7000 feet.
Riders of all abilities can find open play areas offering gentle slopes and challenging hillsides to temp even the most adventurous rider seeking the steep and deep.
All snowmobiles are required to have an Idaho registration and sticker. which along with trail maps are available at most Priest Lake businesses. Please designate our 9A region when you register to help maintain our groomed trail system. And, remember to put our new Snowmobile App on your iphone! |

Winter at Priest Lake State Park
Indian Creek campground remains open when Mother Nature covers the ground with beautiful white powder. Most people think the park goes into hibernation like the bear; Well that is when a new form of rereation begins. Indian Creek has approximately 8 miles of groomed cross country ski and snowshoe trails. The campground has 6 camper cabins for rent. The boat launch is plowed for the avid fisherman and multiple campsites are open for those wanting the full winter adventure. Enjoy FREE XC Ski and Shoeshoe lessons plus arts and crafts for kids, chair messages, and fat tire biking on January 7, 2017. There is 24 hour fuel and even the Park Store is open. Snowmobilers can park and ride from the campground parking lot and access 400 miles of groomed trails. Remember when you put away your shorts and pull out the snow pants, Priest Lake State Park is ready to fill your recreational needs.

Winter Festivities
Priest Lake Winter Festivities begin in early January with FREE X-Country and Showshoe lessons at Indian Creek State Park on the 9th.
Then for three weekends, several teams battle for first place in the 48th Annual Showshoe Softball Tournament in the field between Millies and Korner Club on Hwy 57. On the same weekend as the tournament finals (Feb 6-7). Priest Lake is
priviledged to host the U.S.Pacific Coast Championship Sled Dog Races which will include teams from all over the northwest and Canada.

Vintage Snowmobile Races

Winterfest at Hill's, is the last weekend in February where you'll have fun playing
coed snowshoe volley ball in the snow and enjoying great food and music end the evening.

Volunteers Needed for Nordic Program
For the past 16 years, the Priest Lake Nordic Club has operated a ski program for elementary school students from three regional schools, Priest Lake, Priest River, and Idaho Hill. The students are bused to the Priest Lake Golf Course and ski or snow shoe for two hours on groomed trails. The events occur from January to March, usually on weekdays for a total of six ski sessions.
Volunteers are needed to monitor the students durng the sessions. Skiers with all levels of skiing experience are needed. If you have the winter blues and want some healthy activity, please take this opportunity to experience the joy and delight of the students as they participate in this program.
