BIG Announcements!
We are thrilled to announce
that in 2023 the gallery will
be receiving an official name change!
We will no longer be Cheryl Newby Gallery instead, the gallery will be called,

Floyd Fine Arts

Our name change is just one step of our journey – we’re excited about where we are today and look forward to continuing to help our clients create more beautiful spaces in their homes & offices.
While we have grown and will continue to grow, a few things remain unchanged: our commitment to deliver excellent, high quality fine art to our clients. We love what we do, we value our relationships, and we strive to continue to introduce exceptional artists & offer extraordinary original art to the lowcountry.
Thank you to our talented stable of artists, entire community and clients for your continued support.

We will be unveiling a fresh new logo and rebranding for the gallery soon, stay tuned!

We Can't Wait to Meet our New Addition!
Check out what the artists have been up to!
Glenda Taylor was recently commissioned to create a beautiful work of art in a clients entry. The artist worked with the client on the shape, size and design and then hand-made 220 ceramic flowers to create this raining flowers effect. The final look was stunning in the clients 14’ high foyer.
The design options are endless, she can create butterflies, oyster shells, whatever your space needs; If you are interested in commissioning the artist, call the gallery at (843)979-0149 or send an email to [email protected]
Badlands Bull and Descent into the Pinery by J.D. Welsh have been accepted into the National Sculpture Society's Spring Exhibition called, Melting Pot: The Diverse Culture of the Americas.

Brookgreen Gardens will be hosting a workshop,
October 23-27 – Birds in Sculpture with Sandy Scott, FNSS.
The class begins with a discussion of bird anatomy, the principles of aerodynamics, and how to achieve the illusion of movement in sculptures of birds in flight. Students will learn how to construct an armature for blocking-in birds in flight. Scott will help students determine the difference between a sculpture that is technically adequate and one that has spirit and life. All aspects of modeling in oil-based clay will be explored, and beginning students are welcome. Students will learn the importance of assembling strong, meaningful shapes and how eliminating unimportant details can create the bird’s essence. Students will work from photography, drawings, field guides, and videotapes of birds in flight. Above all, armature building, assembling references for a specific species, aerodynamics, anatomy, and creating art is the focus. Scott has instructed bird sculpture for over 30 years and is recognized as one of America’s leading wildlife artists. Workshop cost is $650 + materials fee.
Gallery Artist, Paula Holtzclaw has continued to receive many accolades!
