During Winter of 2024-2025, the Institute for Holocaust Education provided programming to over 2,800 students, educators, and the public through the Anne Frank Exhibit, Lunch and Learns, and special guest lectures. We are looking forward to our annual Week of Understanding, March 24-28, where we will bring second-generation accounts of the Holocaust to thousands of people in our area.

Bringing The Ritchie Boys to Omaha

The incredible story of the Ritchie Boys and their remarkable contributions during World War II came to Omaha through IHE and our partners. On November 7, 2024, the IHE screened The Ritchie Boys in the Alan J. Levine Performing Arts Theater, introducing hundreds of people to this captivating history. On February 3, Katy Self, Director of the Ritchie Boys Museum, visited Omaha to share insights about the museum and highlight the crucial role the Ritchie Boys played in the war. Then, on March 2, Aaron Parsow, son of Margo and Jay Parsow, z”l, took the stage to tell the story of his grandfather, Warner B. Frohman, a real-life Ritchie Boy. We are thankful to our partners and presenters for sharing this important story with our Omaha community.

After inheriting her father’s WWII memorabilia, Laurie’s frustration with limited resources led her to create the Courtroom 600 project to preserve this crucial history.

Join us for this powerful lecture and hear Laurie’s unique perspective on preserving the legacy of the trials. Advanced registration required.

This program is made possible through the support of the Shirley & Leonard Goldstein Foundation, Omaha Public Schools Foundations, and the Jewish Federation of Omaha.
