December 11, 2024

Namaste dear friends, I hope this finds you well and enjoying the month of December unfolding. As we draw towards the end of another year, I invite you to slow down, take pause when you feel you don't have the time for it.

I invite you to connect with your breath. To cook warm & nourishing meals. To sip tea. I invite you to do what brings you lightness - be it cleaning, moving, speaking with a friend or watching a movie that inspires laughter, or tears that may need to be released ... I invite you to flow with that good & loving energy from now until we turn the corner into the New Year.

With love, Annelize

On a recent trip to Ohio, we actually had an opportunity to see snow! Yes, up close. It was beautiful. We had the boots, the warm coats, hats and of course, unnecessary mittens but come on, when you travel from the South, we're not taking any chances :)

I told our daughter she could finally have that hot chocolate she's been thinking about! After a refreshing walk to my sister's place...I felt the inspiration! We enjoyed a version of this hot cocoa and thought I'd share the recipe. Try it out and tell me what you think!

Spiced Hot Cocoa

  • Whole milk or another milk-type beverage your choice (almond, soy, coconut or oat)

  • a tsp or two of your favorite cocoa powder (adjust for your sweetness level)

  • a pinch of dry ginger powder or fresh grated ginger, a pinch of cinnamon, and a couple cardmom pods crushed.

  • Boil the milk with the spices, then strain and stir in the cocoa powder and enjoy!

If you want just a hint of cocoa, then 1 tsp is works well for the flavor and once the milk is not super hot, then you can add a little honey to it, stir well and enjoy...
