Happy New Year! Tanti auguri per l'anno buono!

We hope everyone had a peaceful and healthy holiday season. Today is technically the 12th day of Christmas (6 January), and we’re getting ready to take down the decorations and settle into winter. Here’s hoping for snow, a Chiefs Super Bowl victory and the quick arrival of spring!

Brighten up the cold, dark winter with the amazing varieties of grapefruit, oranges and lemons that are coming into seasonLemons, oranges and bergamots grow widely in southern Italy and are used in many savory and sweet dishes. We are brightening up our winter with bergamot marmalade, fresh pasta with lemon cream, and salads of cara cara, blood oranges and fennel. So, get out the pasta maker and say goodbye to the winter blues! Check below for recipes.

Our friends in Tuscany make a fabulous citrus olive oil where they press the whole citrus with the olives. We love this olive oil! It is perfect for finishing fresh grilled fish or a salad. If you'd like to order it, contact Roberta at Crociani - here is their website. They make fabulous wines too -Crociani Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is one of our favorites - go ahead and order some wines while you're at it!

The other thing keeping us sane is planning our future Italy trips. Italy is still locked down but has started distributing the vaccine. We have several weeks in Puglia and Tuscany planned for the fall with open spots still available for our Tuscany weeks. We're still unsure of this spring's tours, but remain hopeful! We’re choosing the 2022 dates now, so stay tuned we’ll be publishing them on our website in the next week. It is sure to be a banner year with everyone ready to travel again.
Plan ahead on joining us!

Buon appetito!
