winter stillness

Happy New Year!

Welcome back to the studio! We missed you and hope that you had a relaxing, nourishing holiday break.

If you are feeling spent, tired or depressed after the holidays - you are not alone. December is a month of giving that can leave us feeling depleted - physically and emotionally. January brings us into Winter, urging us to slow down, rest and recuperate. If you enjoy setting New Year's Resolutions, perhaps this year you set an intention to be kinder, softer and more compassionate with yourself. Give yourself space to curl up, read, sip warm beverages, watch the snow fall and just be.

Donna Ashworth says this well in an excerpt from her book, Joy Chose You:

"You may think yourself lazy, or flawed. Yet your body is made of almost exactly the same elements as the stars. Your bone composition matches the coral in the seas and you, my friend, are ruled by the moon and the sun. Whether you like it or not. So no, you are not lazy. Nature is simply pulling you to slow, like the life, flora and fauna around you. It is not your moment to rise. It is winter, you are wintering. And you are right on time."

Candlelight Yoga Nidra

One Friday a month

January 16 , 6:30-7:30pm

As the new year unfolds and winter invites us inward, join Jan for a sacred hour of deep rest, renewal, and inner listening. Each month offers its own tone—January’s quiet clarity and February’s softening toward tenderness—and together they create a gentle path for beginning again.

During this special one hour class, we will rest comfortably while being guided through a gentle Yoga Nidra practice to support deep relaxation. You are always in control and may adjust, rest, or stop at any time.

January Theme — Quieting & Clearing

We begin the year by settling the nervous system, softening residual tension from the holidays, and creating space for clarity. This session helps you listen for your deeper intentions—the ones that rise up when everything else grows still.

Whether you are seeking grounding, comfort, emotional spaciousness, or simply an hour of uninterrupted rest, this practice offers a doorway into profound ease.
