Hello There!

Welcome to Week 8! This week's bag really has us ready for warmer weather, featuring hydroponic lettuce and beets for a refreshing salad, and chicken patty "burger" night. Don't forget to save room for dessert - strawberries & cream please!

It's been a busy week on the farm, as we've started thousands of seeds in the greenhouse. We are so ready for spring, and working in the 80-90 degree greenhouse really keeps our minds off the chilly, wintry weather we've had the last few days! We're planning on growing some of our tried and true favorites like lettuce, kale, tomatoes and melons, and we're also trying a few new things like celery and celeriac. We can't wait to see the little seedlings emerge any day now!

With spring drawing near, we are also finalizing the details for our Summer Share. We'll be updating the website and sending out an email with more details soon!

Bag Contents
Week 8
Chicken Patties
Hamburger Buns
Cheddar Cheese
Hydroponic Lettuce
Pickled Red Beets
Frozen Strawberries
Cream (pt.)
Eggs (1 doz.)
Garlic (2 cloves)
This week's bag lends itself to some breakfast, dinner and dessert plates. The chicken patties can be baked off in the oven, or break up the patty and sauté
it like ground chicken in an skillet. Use the lettuce for a traditional salad, topped with pickled beets, or as a wrap. If you haven't tried the amazing Guernsey cream yet, you may find yourself over-indulging in some homemade whipped cream. Just add a little powdered sugar and whisk away!

BEET SALAD - This recipe is even easier with the pickled beets (no roasting, peeling or cutting required!), and cheddar cheese can be substituted
