Healing from Work-Based Stress and Trauma
Rescheduled from November, this workshop will be held on Sunday, December 3 from 3:00-5:00pm.
Whether you work in an emergency department, are a first responder, active duty soldier, or veteran, or are feeling the stresses of the everyday battle of life, this workshop can teach you how to ease the damage that stress and trauma cause the body and mind.
In addition to tight muscles and other bodily aches and pains, work-based trauma and stress may result in depression, PTSD, or feelings of isolation and being alone in the world. The heart is especially sensitive to the effects of stress which may show up as heart disease or high blood pressure.
Yoga has been demonstrated to be a highly effective tool to counteract stress. In this workshop, you will experience simple yoga techniques proven to reduce stress and help with trauma recovery.
This workshop includes a combination of discussion and practice (breath work, yoga poses, guided relaxation and meditation), leaving you with techniques that contribute to physical and mental wellness.
No prior yoga experience is needed. Mats, chairs, and all yoga accessories provided, but you may bring your own mat if you prefer.
