Dear Eileen,

After a few weeks of above average temperatures, we have been brought back to reality with a snow-filled reminder that there are still a few more weeks until it is officially Spring. Yet, there are still activities for you at Hilltop and in the future.

The Great Backyard Bird Count

The 27th annual Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) takes place from Friday, February 16 (TODAY!) through Monday, February 19. Bird and nature lovers everywhere unite in the effort to tally as many of the world's bird species as possible over these four days. Combined with other bird counts, GBBC results help create a clearer picture of how birds are faring—whether individual species are are declining, increasing, or holding steady in the face of habitat loss, climate change, and other threats.

Each year FOFAH urges you to be part of this fun and important, participatory science event. See https://www.birdcount.org for specific details.

The Annual Tag Sale & Flea Market

Make plans now to join The Friends of the Farm at Hilltop for a “Monster” craft show and flea market in front of Suffield’s “Monster” barn on Saturday, April 27.

Hilltop Farm is a GREAT place for a Tag Sale, Flea Market or Craft Show! Located on Route 159 in Suffield, just south of the Mass border, there is easy access from Agawam, Windsor Locks and Enfield. The historic farmstead has room for dozens of tents and tables, plus plenty of free parking. Suffield’s scout troop will be selling refreshments, and kids can play in the big sand pile while your customers are shopping.

The sale will be Saturday, April 27, with gates opening at 9am. Rain date is Sunday, April 28.

Sign up now for a 12’ x 12’ space for $30. The price goes up to $35 on April 14. Reserve at HilltopFarmSuffield.org/craftshow or leave a message for us at (860)758-0668.
