GREETINGS FRIENDS! It actually feels like off season! Our local “weather geek” seems very optimistic for great snow. (CLICK HERE for the forecast and snowfall) This is the month when the colorful leaves are almost all gone and the snow starts sticking! SKI SEASON IS ALMOST HERE!!!! Aspen & Snowmass Mountains: Scheduled to open on Thanksgiving Day - November 25 and close April 17, 2022.   Buttermilk Mountain: Opens December 11 – April 3, 2022 Aspen Highlands Mountain: Opens December 11 – April 10, 2022 If the snow depth is acceptable to the ski company, they may open earlier and close later. We will definitely keep you posted! We love the change of seasons and know you do too! Each season gives us something new and different to enjoy. Condé Nast Traveler announced last month that Aspen has won the Choice award for America’s Best Small Town. After a year that found many of us escaping to the great outdoors, it’s no surprise that Aspen tops this year’s list. CLICK HERE

REAL ESTATE UPDATE  It is common knowledge that the most “outrageous” prices are in the core of Aspen, Red Mountain, and close East and West End. We are seeing some “perfect” properties selling for over $4,000 per square foot. It is shocking how many older properties are selling over $2,000 per square foot.   As we have said for years, if you are a BUYER and willing to put the time and energy into upgrading or remodeling, you will get a much better value-especially if your go more than a mile either side of town. However, our inventory is very low now, so we will even make calls to owners who are not on the market, but may consider an offer to sell.

RESTAURANT UPDATE!

Town is gearing up for a multitude of restaurant changes and many new retailers. The restaurant scene is the most surprising to me:  CHICA Aspen: Opening this winter at the Residences at the Little Nell - base of Aspen Mountain (pictured above). CHICA by Chef Lorena Garcia will transport guests through Latin America, featuring the robust and vibrant flavors of authentic regional dishes. Chef Garcia is one of the nation’s top celebrity chefs best known for her television roles on Top Chef Masters, America’s Next Great Restaurant. This will be her 3rd restaurant. CLICK HERE L’Hosteria: After 25-year run, Aspen favorite L’Hostaria Ristorante closing its doors Just announced that they sold to the former owner of Creperie du Village. Rumor has it that he is creating a high-end Spanish menu.   Pinions: Casa d’Angelo from south Florida has been open all summer to rave reviews. The pleasantly updated interior is surpassed by the authentic red sauce and varied Italian menu.   Jimmy’s: Sold to the Clark Oyster Bar group. Rumor says it will be high end Mexican food.   Duemani and Aqualina: Sold, but have not heard menu or to whom.   Catch: From NYC and LA- Opening at 204 Galena above LuLu Lemon and Balenciaga.   The summer restaurant scene was so busy that we had to book over a week in advance-so plan ahead for your ski trip!

New Hotel Aspen ownership eyes spring construction The new ownership of the Hotel Aspen, which was acquired last week by White Elephant LLC for $37.5 million, in recent years also has bought and restored properties in Nantucket, Massachusetts, and Palm Beach, Florida, into luxury boutique hotels. This will be a great addition to Aspen!
