Save the Date For WinterFEST

January 28 & 29, 2023

Newton Community Pride is busy planning for 2023. We are excited to announce that WinterFEST will be back on January 28 & 29, 2023! NCP will be partnering once again with John Rice & the Hyde Community Center for an outside Community Soup Social on January 28 at the Hyde Playground with live music and dancing with the Eli Cash Band.  On January 29 family activities will start in the morning at Cold Spring Park followed by an afternoon of cool fun on the Newton Centre Village Green. Enjoy live entertainment, incredible ice sculptures with a live demonstration, a community winter walk with special guests, a Winter "Pop Up" Market, hot chocolate, treats, and a visit from some special costumed characters. All events are free, accessible, and open to all! Make sure to mark your calendars and stay tuned for more details after the holidays.

FenceART: Call For Art

Calling all artists who currently reside, work, volunteer, worship, or participate in art classes in the City of Newton! All are invited to submit work for FenceART 2023. Artists may submit 3 jpegs of work in any media, including but not limited to photography, painting, quilting, collage, and photos of 3D work. Artists accepted in any year must skip one year before applying again.


FenceART is a year-round public art project, dedicated to bringing vibrant, varied, and engaging art to neighborhoods throughout Newton. Each year, a jury-chosen group of 20 works by Newton artists, embracing a broad range of styles and media, are printed on high-quality vinyl banners. The banners rotate in small groups to 5 publicly accessible fence locations, for approximately 10 weeks at a time.


Deadline for submissions: December 1, 2022

Newton Cultural Development: Halloween Window Painting

A successful weekend for Newton Cultural Development and their Halloween Window Painting event! Five Newton village centers came alive with color and excitement this past Saturday thanks to 450 young painters. NCP was proud to be the "Great Pumpkin Sponsor" for this creative and fun community event. It was so wonderful to see our young artists at work this past weekend. We hope you got out in this beautiful weather to take a walk in our village centers and check out all the fabulous artwork!
