Belle's Blue Bell Looks to Upset Saratoga's Prioress

Trainer Carlos David returns Florida-bred Belle’s Blue Bell to graded-stakes competition for the third time this year in an effort to upset the Grade 3 Prioress at Saratoga Race Course Saturday. The Jacks or Better Farm homebred filly won the $100,000 Maryfield at Monmouth Park on June 29 but was unsuccessful in both the Grade 3 Miss Preakness in May and the Grade 1 Test last out on Aug. 3.

Florida-bred Dean Delivers Seeking Fourth Straight Stakes Win in Rumson

OCEANPORT, NJ—Trainer Ned Allard knew he was getting a proven, accomplished sprinter when owner Marilyn Campbell’s Stonehedge LLC sent Dean Delivers to his Delaware Park base from Florida this spring.


What he didn’t anticipate was that the 5-year-old gelded son of Stonehedge Farm South stallion Cajun Breeze would rip off three consecutive stakes victories following the change in scenery.

More Confirmed Cases of Contagious Equine Metris in Orange County

According to the Equine Disease Communication Center and the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service of the United States Department of Agriculture, several new cases of Contagious Equine Metris were confirmed in Orange County, Fla., on Aug. 29. An official quarantine has been issued.
