Florida-bred Ninja Star Looks to Upset Tampa Bay Stakes

Donald L. Ming’s Ninja Star will use his half-length victory in the $75,000 Sunshine Turf as a springboard into Saturday’s Grade 3 Tampa Bay Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs. Ten 4-year-olds and older will go a mile-and-a-sixteenth on the turf for a purse of $175,000, including a $25,000 bonus for Florida-breds presented by the Florida Thoroughbred Breeders’ and Owners’ Association.

Undefeated Global Steve Set for Withers Stakes

Cash is King LLC and LC Racing LLC’s Global Steve puts his undefeated record on the line Saturday when the Florida-bred colt makes his 2025 debut at Aqueduct in the $250,000 Withers for seven 3-year-olds going a mile-and-an-eighth.

Contagious Equine Metritis in Orange County

According to the Equine Disease Communication Center and the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service of the United States Department of Agriculture, a new case of Contagious Equine Metritis were confirmed in Orange County, Fla., as of Jan. 30. An official quarantine has been issued.
